About Morris
Welcome to MorrisChapdelaine.com! I am a film maker, actor, director, art director and puppeteer (of all the crazy things!) living in fantastic Vancouver, British Columbia- the Sci-fi and comic book film and television capital of the world. (OK, it's just ME that proclaims that, but over my 10 years+ here, I have had the great opportunity to play aliens and creatures on several different shows)My first feature is just making the festival rounds and has already won it's first award! As a director I have made several short films and continue to do so and I have recently been working in many 'new media' formats as a director and art director. Take a look at my galleries, portfolios, demo reels and films and feel free to leave your comments- they're most appreciated. Thanks! MorrisOfficial Date Set for World Premiere
Montreal- Here I come!October 2nd, 2009
Well, its official. Sunday, October 25th at 5 PM will be the official world premiere of 'Beyond Gay- The Politics of Pride' in Montreal, Quebec. I am actually super stoked about the theater it will be playing in. The Imperial theater was named one of the top 10 restored, classic theaters in the world by Food and Wine Magazine.
This was taken directly from their online program:
From the elegant symbolism of the empty flatbed concluding Sao Paulo’s mammoth pride parade, to Moscow Pride organizer Nikolai Alekseev’s Byzantine ingenuity and dogged determination, Beyond Gay – The Politics of Pride is a moving portrait of international LGBT struggles for human rights. Vancouver Pride Marshal Big Gay Ken (Coolen) explains the difference between marches and parades, and the importance of confronting the “authorities in your own communities,” as he visits countries where attempting to stage pride festivities invites extreme reactions. First-time director Bob Christie teams up with Aerlyn Weissman (Forbidden Love) in this panoramic meditation on the state of our queer nations. A refreshing and clearly Canadian perspective on LGBT rights at home and abroad, it features generous footage of local Pride events, and interviews with an international roster of LGBT human rights heroes. As with last year’s Gai… et après, Beyond Gay reflects an emerging trend in which our listless and stagnant celebrations return to their fiercely flamboyant roots – by expressing an international solidarity with oppressed LGBT people everywhere. As Tomasz Baczkowski, President of Warsaw Equality Pride eloquently states, “if it’s a movement, a pride movement… then we should move something.”

My Interview on GateWorld
Just posted! Check it out today.September 22, 2009

Beware SPOILERS for Season Five of
Stargate Atlantis
in the interview below. It takes a team of people to bring an Asgard to life. But that team needs a leader to helm the group and channel the performance of five puppeteers into a performance of one.
For Stargate, that lead is Morris Chapdelaine, who also has acted as numerous alien figures in the franchise, from creepy Priors to newborn Wraith drones.
GateWorld recently took time to chat with this master of multiple arts, to learn what goes on behind the workings of Thor and his Asgard brethren, showing him off at conventions, and occasionally donning Oranian prosthetics!
This interview runs approximately 23 minutes and is available in audio. See link for the audio and to read the rest of it!
Here is the video I speak about in the interview
